Happy Easter... He Is Risen!!!

Happy Easter... He Is Risen!!!

APRIL 5, 2015 - What a wonderful morning to be celebrating the rising of our Savior from the grave. I wish all of my family and friends a Happy Easter day of celebration to remember those close to you who have already passed through the veil. The Easter event gives us the confidence to know that we will one day be reunited with our loved ones that have already died.

EAST LA - Forest Lawn Memorial Park was a great place near our Glassell Park home where we would often visit to see the statues and the art. I was really young and I remember going into this huge auditorium where we viewed a narration of the crucifixion and resurrection of Jesus Christ.  The setting and the account were both very powerful upon my soul and I knew it was a real event and inspired me to want to learn more.

SUNRISE SERVICES - Growing up in Southern California provided me with several opportunities to enjoy incredible religious sunrise services on Easter morning.  The mountains are to the north and this provides a good horizon to watch the sun come up.  I compare that to the last 22 years here in Northern Utah where we are just abut a mile from the base of Mt. Timpanogos which rises up on our east side 6,500 feet above the valley floor. We never see the sun until after 9AM. This has made my attempts to see a good sunrise that much more special. In fact it usually occurs when I am either traveling or when I have a backpack strapped upon my back in some high remote mountain area.

Easter is a time to remember the death and crucifixion of Jesus Christ, but leaving it there would leave one with a doom and gloom feeling of sadness. Let's not forget the more important part of the event that gives us all the feeling of hope. Jesus was resurrected on the third day. This means that his body was reunited with his spirit in its perfected form and He lives.  The promise is given to us all that we too will be resurrected and live again. This is the great message of hope that joins us all together as we internalize this great message of love and hope.
