Happy Thanksgiving - Hogle Zoo Fun

ML2014NOVEMBER 25, 2015 - Getting the chance to go to the Salt Lake City Hogle Zoo with my grandkids was awesome! With Rolf & Poppy being 5, Tommy 3, and cutest little Josie at 8 months, the zoo visit had all the makings of a memorable fun family event. Just look at the cover photo for this blog and you can see the leading lady Josie all dressed up as the owl from Harry Potter (Hedwig), complete with incredible steel blue eyes and a smile that just melts a Granpa's heart.

My lovely wife Shelly and I actually crashed the Dixon family planned event and it was my goal to just stalk them from afar and get some cute shots.  Instead, we were immersed in the fun and both Shelly and I took the fun photos from two different perspectives.  Check out the cool 51 image photo album book at Here are some of the classic shots...

Our family wishes you the very best Thanksgiving day.  It is now 8 AM and if you find yourself without a place to go to eat, then send me a text at 801-636-6816 and plan on being hungry for turkey at 4 PM sharp.  That is when i will have the bird, stuffing, mashed potatoes, gravy, green beans w/slivered almonds, and at least three jello salads ready to enjoy. I love making the homemade stuffing and then prepping the bird for the oven. Shelly and the kids take care of the potatoes and green beans. Aunt Sherry will take care of the rolls and one of the jello, while my Mom will bring two more to both sweeten up and add color to the wonderful feast. Oh yes, the kids table features its own mini bird for the grandkids to carve and devour. For some reason they have vivid memories of me telling turkey jokes while carving their little Blue Grouse... I guess I will be Googling "Turkey Jokes" so that I can be prepared to keep my unknown tradition going. And if the full meal doesn't suit your fancy, then stop by about 5:30 for pie.... What? You need to know what type of pie before you commit.... Okay, we have pumpkin, chocolate silk, razzleberry, and key lime. One of those should tantalize your taste buds. And if we don't hear from you, then we know that all is well and that you are well taken care of this blustery day.

Have a Happy Thanksgiving!
