Josie Mishelle Arrives Safely!
It was quite a relief receiving the text that Josie Mishelle arrived safely Wednesday afternoon. I was at the hospital for some of the labor process and had to leave to fulfill an umpiring assignment knowing that it could be hours or minutes before she arrived. To hear that she was here safely and healthy was a huge relief.
JOSIE MISHELLE - It was another 20 hours before we would learn her name. Up to that point we referred to her as "Sister", as her siblings Rolf, Poppy, and Tommy played Tic-Tac-Toe with Great Grandma Carolyn back at our house waiting for the good news. Josie is a new name to the Dixon and Leavitt families, but Mishelle is the middle name we chose for Josie's Aunt Haily when she was born. It was the best mixture or Michael and Shelly. So there you have it, I finally have one of my grandchildren with some reference to my name, and I couldn't be happier.
PRECIOUS - There is nothing more wonderful than holding a newborn baby. Josie was no exception as I marvelled at her small hands and fingers. It reminded me of the hours I sat sobbing as I held her Mother Jessica after she came to earth just about 25 years ago. In a similar fashion my eyes watered up as I was holding precious little Josie.
More to come...
